PHENYLGOLD

ANTI-INFLAMMATORY, ANTIPYRETIC AND ANALGESIC Phenylbutazone is a synthetic non-steroid anti-inflammatory agent, which also exhibits analgesic and anti-pyretic properties (without loss of consciousness). It is especially useful in the treatment of (rheumatoid) dysfunctions of joints, arthritis of different origins, and rheumatic disorders of muscles. Arthritis, bursitis, myositis, tendinitis, vaginitis, neuritis. Painful injury (like luxation, sprain, muscle damage) enzootic pneumonia and in combination with antibiotic treatment, mastitis in cattle, dogs, and cats.

INGREDIENTS:   

Phenylbutazone……………………..200 mg

Excipient (distilled water) qs …………1 ml

 

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

Deep intramuscular administration.

-Cattle: 10 ml per animal.

-Calf, foal:  6-10 ml per animal.

-Dogs:  1 ml per 15 kg bodyweight.

-Cats:  0.3 ml per animal.

When used in very young animals with simultaneous administration of other strong protein binding drugs. (like salicylates and sulphonamides); heart-liver- or renal dysfunction’s.

 

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:

For meat: 10 days

For milk: 04 days

SIDE EFFECTS:

Sometimes kidney damage with hemorrhages or blood dyscrasias may occur (long-term treatment), furthermore, gastric and enteral irritation, and in horse edema, erosions of buccal mucosa and necroses of hepatic veins have been reported, especially after extended doses.
